Everybody that knows him loves Elmo. He is a wonderful family dog that we know. We visit Elmo's house when we go to our friend's house for a home group meeting on Wednesday evenings. So, over time, Elmo has stolen our hearts.
Several years ago, Elmo was sick and went to the vet. He had a hard time with eating and was on different medicines and foods to try to get him well. He became very sick. Someone in the home group suggested we pray for Elmo, so we did. Elmo got well and everything was fine after that.
A long time later, maybe a year or two, maybe longer, we went to home group one night. Everyone was gathered in the room except the home group leader and his wife. The announcement was made that Elmo was very sick and they were taking care of him. The news was not good, and it looked like Elmo had a type of cancer that would take his life shortly. He was in a lot of pain when we saw him later on. Again, they were trying medicines, and making decisions on which way to go to get treatment for him. They were not going to take Elmo through chemo or anything radical. We realized that we might not see him again and it was very sad. Again, we prayed for Elmo. And again, Elmo recovered and was fine. We were elated that he recovered. God was good to us for taking care of Elmo, especially when there was no other answer or cure for his sickness.

Our Cat Who Ran Away and How We Got Her Back
We had a beautiful gray tabby cat named 'Roxanne' who was a house cat and never went outside. She was an affectionate cat and loved attention. We lost Roxanne to cancer years ago, but I will never forget what happened to us when we lived in our other house when Roxanne was younger.
Somehow, either someone left a door open, or she got out underneath us without our knowing it while we held the door open. It was around Christmas time and we noticed the cat was missing. We looked all over the house for her. We combed the house looking for her. Then we combed the neighborhood looking for her. There were a couple of different groups of us who went out searching for her. We live near a busy road, so I was hoping not to find her run over by a vehicle. I took the car and went to the subdivision next to ours and looked. We called for her. We spent all day looking for her.
Before I go on with the rest of the story, let me tell you about our dachshund who used to get out of the yard and roam the streets. One day, while teaching the children, I glanced out the window and saw my twinkle toes prancing down the road. Another time, I let him out in the back yard. A knock came on the door and a neighbor who lived across the street was at the door, and asked me if I had a little black dog, to which I said that I did. He said that he almost ran over him. I went to the back door and let the dog in. He acted like nothing happened.
Back to Roxanne. We spent all day looking for her. Groups of people went searching for her. No Roxanne. We were sure we probably would not see her again, once night time came around. Only God knew where she was. So, at bed time, we prayed. We prayed for Roxanne to come home. After we got done praying, my daughter went outside. She had a feeling she knew where Roxanne was, and sure enough there she was! She was hiding under the car of the people who lived across the street (probably the car that almost hit my dog!). What was interesting was that there were cars in and out of that driveway throughout the day, so the cat wasn't under the car all day because it wasn't there during the day. God allowed us to have Roxanne back again and we were once again united with our beloved cat. We will never knew where Roxanne ventured out to on that December day, but we got her back safely and we are very grateful for that.

The Wonders of God and His Miracles
I am making a blog on the wonders of God, and His miracles. I will post miracle stories as I come across them and as they come to mind. Feel free to send me your story in your life where you know God miraculously intervened and I will consider posting it. I will post stories that show the power of the true and living God, however, I am not going to post stories that have to do with saints appearing to people or Jesus' picture appearing on a piece of toast. I have had miraculous answers to prayer as well as many of my friends have. From time to time, I will post stories here.
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then it is your responsibility and privilege to represent Him well, and tell others of who He is and what He has done for you. That is what I am providing an opportunity for you to do so here. If you do not know the Lord yet, please go to http://thegospelconversation.blogspot.com and read the posts I have put there. They will help explain what the Gospel message is, and how you can be forgiven of your sins, and why you need to be cleansed from sin.
